Kohima, August 28, 2026: The stage is set. The finalists are decided. And after two very different semi-final victories, Sechü Zubza FC and Mez & Co are ready to battle for Champions Cup glory.

The 1st Atuo Mezhür Sekhose Super League – Champions Cup 2026 will reach its climax on Saturday, August 29, with league champions Sechü Zubza FC taking on a rampant Mez & Co in what promises to be a mouth-watering title decider at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.

While Sechü Zubza had to fight back from a goal down to overcome Tsütuonuomia Youth Organisation (TYO) 3–1 in the first semi-final, Mez & Co delivered one of the most emphatic performances of the tournament, dismantling Vanguard Academy 7–0 to storm into the final.

Now, the two sides meet with the Champions Cup trophy on the line.

SZFC Showed Their Championship Character

Sechü Zubza FC entered the Champions Cup as league champions after a perfect four wins from four matches, and their semi-final demonstrated exactly why they have been the side to beat.

TYO stunned the champions when Mhasilhoukho Chietsü put them ahead in the 13th minute. Sechü Zubza, however, refused to panic.

After the break, the comeback began.

Aneizo M. Suokhrie restored parity in the 52nd minute before Pulovi Kiho completed the turnaround with the go-ahead goal in the 65th minute.

With TYO chasing an equaliser, SZFC found the decisive blow. Vikhozoto Zhünyü struck in the 79th minute to make it 3–1 and send the league champions through to the final.

It was a performance built on patience, resilience and an ability to raise their level when it mattered most.

Mez & Co Send Out a Warning

If Sechü Zubza’s route to the final was about fighting back, Mez & Co’s was about complete domination.

The second semi-final saw Mez & Co tear Vanguard Academy apart in a stunning 7–0 victory.

Kevizolie Kin opened the scoring in the 28th minute before adding another in the 58th, while Vinato Achumi struck in the 47th minute.

From there, the floodgates opened.

Nisede Peseyie made it 4–0 in the 63rd minute before Petevizo Kezie-o added another just two minutes later.

Vanguard’s misery deepened in the 68th minute when Nendy Kath turned the ball into his own net, before Neihelie J Mepfhüo completed the seven-goal rout in the 70th minute.

Seven goals. A clean sheet. A place in the final.

Mez & Co could hardly have sent a louder message ahead of Saturday’s showdown.

Two Teams. One Trophy.

The final now presents a fascinating clash of styles and momentum.

Sechü Zubza FC arrive as the league champions, unbeaten through a perfect four-match league campaign and battle-tested after their comeback against TYO.

Mez & Co, meanwhile, enter the final with enormous attacking momentum after their seven-goal demolition of Vanguard Academy.

But semi-final performances will count for little once the whistle goes.

The Champions Cup final is a completely different occasion — one game, one trophy and no second chance.

For Sechü Zubza, it is an opportunity to cap their dominant league campaign by adding the Champions Cup crown.

For Mez & Co, it is a chance to produce one final statement and walk away as champions.
